Milan Star Alexandre Pato Sets Sights on Double Target

The ‘Duck’ says the Rossoneri have what it takes to win the Scudetto and the Champions League.

AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato is confident the Diavoli will end their trophy drought next year and can go all the way both in Serie A and the Champions League.

Milan have failed to win any silverware since lifting the World Club Championship in 2007 and the Brazilian international believes his compatriot Leonardo has a strong enough squad at his disposal to reverse the club’s fortunes.

“Leonardo is a person with clear ideas and we have plenty of options,” Pato told La Stampa.

“If Ronaldinho or I are missing, ‘Leo’ can field [David] Beckham, [Ignazio] Abate or [Davide] Di Gennaro.

Beckham rejoins the Rossoneri today for his second loan spell at the San Siro.

“He will give us a great hand to win the Scudetto,” said Pato.

“I believe in it. And we have the qualities to win the Champions League too.”

Milan are eight points adrift of leaders Inter in Serie A, but have a game in hand after their clash with Fiorentina was postponed before the Christmas break.

And they will face Manchester United in the last 16 of the Champions League.
