Fabio Capello Tips Inter For Champions League Glory

The England manager says the Nerazzurri are still the team to beat in Serie A and 2010 could see them end their European drought.

England boss Fabio Capello believes the Serie A title race is unlikely to go down to the wire this season as Juventus and Milan can’t hold a candle to reigning champions Inter.

“Inter remain the strongest side,” the tactician told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They have strengthened year after year. They sneaked into the void left by the (Calciopoli) penalties on Juve and Milan and ran away, far away.

“How could they be caught? It’s up to the presidents of Juve and Milan. It depends on their capabilities.”

Inter have struggled to qualify to the last 16 of the Champions League this season and have not won Europe’s biggest club competition since 1965, but Capello thinks the Beneamata will give the English flag-bearers a run for their money.

“An English side will get to the final,” he mused.

“But Inter are certainly a good side like the other challengers. We’ll see. Let’s wait and we'll have fun…”
