Roberto Mancini began his tenure as coach of Manchester City with a 2-0 victory over Stoke yesterday and his former assistant and team-mate, Sinisa Mihajlovic, is pleased with his early success.

The Serbian has also recently started a new job as coach of Catania and in his last outing picked up an historic win over Juventus. Mihajlovic believes his experience, with Mancini and other tacticians, will benefit the Etnei.

"I'm happy with the victory yesterday by Roberto Mancini with Man City, you'll see he will do very well in England," he said during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"As for me, I learned from him about how to work on the pitch and from [Vujadin] Boskov and [Sven-Goran] Eriksson about behaviour and psychology.

"I am confident of being able to save Catania."

The Sicilian outfit currently sit with just 12 points from 17 Serie A matches in 2009-10.
