Roma coach Claudio Ranieri believes Inter will continue their march towards the Scudetto as he makes his new year predictions.

Speaking to Il Corriere Dello Sport, the Rome-born tactician measured chances to win the Tricolore for his side as well as the chasing pack, but he cannot see them wrestle it from Jose Mourinho's side.

"Inter will win the Scudetto. They are the ones who can lose it," he said.

"Are Roma the anti-Inter? I hope so, but we have lost time. However, we are climbing back. It would be nice to catch the Nerazzurri, but only they can lose the league."

Ranieri then touched on the Champions League tie between his former team Chelsea and Scudetto favourites Inter. He hopes the famous trophy heads back to Italian shores in 2010.

"Between Chelsea and Inter? I would like an Italian side to win the Champions League," he added.

"But if an Italian doesn't win, then I hope Carlo [Ancelotti] triumphs. I knew he would do well because he is an excellent person."
