Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli will be sidelined for three weeks, according to sportal.tv.

The diminutive goal-scorer suffered a back injury during his side's 1-0 win over Siena. He will definitely miss the January 6 clash with Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Team doctors will evaluate the player again on December 28 and are hopeful he will be able to return for the match against Atalanta on January 10.

The former Benfica star has had a successful campaign, notching six goals in sixteen appearances.  The Rosanero currently sit in seventh place in Serie A, with 26 points to their name.
