Fiorentina Set Sights On Mario Bolatti And Igor Akinfeev – Report

Fiorentina are looking to beef up their squad with a pair of new recruits...

Mario Bolatti - Huracan
According to reports in Il Corriere dello Sport, Fiortentina have joined the race for Argentine international midfielder Mario Bolatti.

Having been deemed surplus to requirements by his club FC Porto a year ago, a loan move back to his native Argentina with Huracan has totally rejuvenated the midfielder’s career; winning him his first international cap and a host of European admirers.

Bolatti is thought to be available for a fee of around €8 million, a price that the Viola believe they can pay over a period of three seasons.

While the hunt for a midfielder continues, Fiorentina are also said to be looking for a goalkeeper, or even two.

While originally looking for a suitable backup to Sebastian Frey, reports linking the Frenchman with a move to Manchester United seem to have inspired club officials to keep an eye out for a long term successor to the former Parma man.

The Gigliati’s initial search for an understudy is reported to have taken them to South America, showing a specific interest in Cruzeiro’s Rafael and Santos’ Felipe.

However, speculation linking Frey with a move to the Red Devils have encouraged the club to show an interest in CSKA Moscow’s highly rated Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.
