Brazilian striker Julio Baptista will not leave Roma for Inter during the January transfer window as his agent Herminio Menendez takes a heedful approach.

Reports around the peninsula claimed the clubs were in talks regarding a swap deal that would have seen the "Beast" swap places with Nerazzurri hitman David Suazo.

However, the agent has denied the suggestions, claiming he is unaware of any interest in the powerful striker.

"I have never spoken with anyone from Inter," Menendez told Romagiallorossa.com.

"I can only say that there is no scheduled appointment for Julio to meet Inter. I have not spoken with the Nerazzurri.

"Julio is in Brazil now for the festive break. In any case, he wants to remain at Roma."
