Luca Cigarini’s Agent Won’t Rule Out Napoli Exit
The playmaker could leave the San Paolo in January, but his agent stopped short of naming Fiorentina as one of his suitors.
The former Italy Under-21 man has failed to live up to his billing at the San Paolo so far this term following his €11 million transfer from Atalanta last summer and agent Giovanni Bia has demanded clear-the-air talks with the Partenopei directors.
“We must understand, along with the club, what Luca’s future could be at Napoli,” the representative told Violanews.com.
“He is not asking to be guaranteed a starting XI place and is not arrogant. But it’s obvious that he would like to play more.
“He is a good lad and a great midfielder, as proved by the investment that Napoli made in the summer.”
Press reports have suggested that Napoli could use Cigarini as a bargaining chip to land Lazio playmaker Cristian Ledesma, but Fiorentina are now believed to have joined the hunt for the 23-year-old.
“I can’t rule out anything at the moment and there are several sides after Cigarini,” explained Bia.
“But I’d prefer not to comment right now as it would not be fair to Napoli.”
