Head Of Italian Coaches Association Renzo Ulivieri: Stadiums Need Fixing
The head of coaches in Italy is less than impressed with the weekend's stadium closures...
Ulivieri, who has echoed Lega Calcio chief Maurizio Berretta's sentiments, has called for better infrastructure around the grounds after Italy's Calcio failed to cope with adverse weather conditions.
"We did not send out a good impression, but I think we have to look at kick off times too. It's obvious stadiums need to be modernised," he told the press.
Italy's ambition to host the 2016 European Championships has been thrown into doubt unless they show signs of improving the grounds, but Ulivieri is confident things can change.
"It's a shame that previous modernisation work on the stadiums has not been adequate. It's not like they were done 100 years ago. In any case they have to be improved," he concluded.
