Chievo Star Sergio Pellissier Rues ‘Undeserved’ Loss To Napoli
The striker believes only the San Paolo faithful swayed the result in the Azzurri’s favour.
The Veronesi dominated proceedings for large spells at the San Paolo but were undone by a Marek Hamsik spot-kick just seven minute in and a late Fabio Quagliarella strike on the counter.
“Maybe we didn’t deserve to lose,” Pellissier sighed in the press room after the encounter.
“But that can happen because Napoli did well in making the most of our only defensive lapses and then controlling the result.
“Napoli are a tough side and the Partenopei fans are always decisive at home. It’s a shame we missed this chance.”
Pellissier wrongly thought he would be jeered by the San Paolo crowd after apparently refusing a transfer to Campania last summer.
“I appreciated the supporters who have realized that the deal didn’t fall through because of me,” concluded the striker.
