ROMA

Julio Sergio: 6.5 – Always present with some decent saves when called into action. He is looking ever more like a certainty between the sticks.

Cassetti:  6 - He did his job with minimal fuss and was rarely troubled by the defensive minded visitors.

Burdisso: 8 – Set the Lupi on their way to victory with a well taken goal just after the break. The Argentine kept his defence organised throughout the encounter and will be fighting with Pizarro for the man of the match award.

Juan: 7 – The Brazilian was solid at the back this afternoon and was rarely put into difficulty by Bojinov and co.

Riise: 5 – The Norwegian got forward on numerous occasions but couldn’t put the balls in as he proved extremely one-footed.

De Rossi: 7.5-
He kept on plugging away in the middle of the park and restricted the visitors out wide when they looked their most dangerous.

Pizarro:  8 – Saw a lot of the ball this afternoon and orchestrated play as many of the Roman attacks were sent via his feet.

Taddei: 5 – Made good headway down the flank early on but he failed to provide the goods for the front men and was duly taken off in the second half.

Brighi: 6.5 – Worked his socks off in the middle of the park and was rewarded for his diligent performance with a late goal which sunk any hopes of a Parma equaliser.

Vucinic:  7 – The Montenegrin provided the assist for Brighi’s late goal and gave the Lupi depth when they were starting to retreat.

Totti: 6.5 –
‘Er Pupone’ had some decent chances in the opening period and was unlucky not to double Roma’s lead with a difficult attempt from range on 52 minutes. He will be having a very Merry Christmas as his side end the year in fourth spot.

Substitutes

Okaka: 6 - Came and gave a solid 20-minute showing for his side, but was forced off early after pulling a quad.

Baptista: N/A – Had a great effort blocked by Mirante just seconds after his late substitution for the injured Okaka.

Motta: N/A – Almost scored just thirty seconds after his late introduction for Taddei.

PARMA

Mirante: 6.5 - The Italian made a number of decent saves and kept his within contention until late on.

Paci: 3 – Had a decent game up until his late sending off. He will be ruing the manner in which he earned a second booking following a scuffle with De Rossi.

Lucarelli:  4.5 – Had a decent opening 45 minutes, but was put into difficulty far too often after the re-start.

Panucci: 7 - He was given a warm reception by his former supporters and didn’t disappoint with a calculated display at the back.

Zaccardo: 6 -
His grit and determination were on display once again this afternoon but that didn’t stop the back four from conceding on two occasions.

Castellini: 5 – Failed to get near David Pizarro, and was eventually made to pay despite a positive showing in the opening period.

Morrone: 5.5 – It wasn’t the usual performance from the Parma captain, but he won’t be too downbeat given the Gialloblu’s fine position in the standings over the winter break.

Galloppa: 6 – Worked his socks off in the middle of the park and was unfortunate to finish the game on the losing side.

Dzemaili: 6.5 – The former Torino man was the focal point of numerous Parma attacks and he gave Pizarro a lot to think about for long spells of the game.

Amoruso: 6 - The evergreen forward gave his all as he looked to drag the Crociati forward. He wasn’t helped by his coach who set up the visitors to defend.

Bojinov: 5.5 - The former Citizen blew hot and cold all afternoon and failed to trouble Julio Sergio with a number of half chances.

Substitutes

Lanzafame : N/A –
Couldn’t provide any danger as Roma ended the encounter in attack late on.

Antonelli: N/A – Given a late run-out but couldn’t find the goods his coach was looking for.
