Roma To Challenge Livorno In Race For Inter Striker David Suazo - Report
The hitman faces decision time as both Livorno and Roma battle it out for his signature...
Roma have joined Livorno in the race for Inter striker David Suazo and a loan deal is in the offing for January.
According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, the Giallorossi have rekindled their interest in the Honduran after coming close to signing him in the summer. It's no secret that coach Claudio Ranieri wants a new striker at Trigoria, but a financial straightjacket as the club curbs spending means he has little room to operate in. It's here where Suazo comes in.
The report claims the Nerazzurri man would arrive in Rome on a free loan until the end of the term. This would suit the club who are not keen on spending significant cash sums on new talent.
However, they face stiff competition from Livorno. Amaranto president Aldo Spinelli has already confirmed his interest in Suazo, with dialogue between both clubs being opened, though voices suggest the hitman would choose Roma over the Tuscan side at the ballot box.
The search for a new man doesn't stop there. The Giallorossi have turned their attention to Germany and they view Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi as affordable. The Germans may allow him to leave for around €1.5 million in January. It is said that director Daniele Prade has spoken to Kuranyi's agent as he studies a possible deal.
