Adrian Mutu Could Leave Fiorentina In January - Agent
The Romanian’s representative has admitted his client will weigh up his options in the new year.
Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu could be on his way out of the Stadio Franchi when the transfer market re-opens in January.
The revelation came from the player’s agent, Giovanni Becali, who spoke to Radio Toscana yesterday.
“I can’t rule out the possibility of Mutu leaving in January,” he said.
Mutu has made just 13 appearances in all competitions so far this term as he has been hampered by fitness problems and his ongoing legal feud with Chelsea and there are suggestions that Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg are after him.
“I don’t know if Zenit will make an offer for him shortly,” insisted Becali.
“Mutu just needs to recover and play. Then we will see in January if any offers come in.”
La Repubblica claimed yesterday that Mutu was set to be disciplined by the Viola after being involved in a brawl at the Four Seasons hotel in Florence deep into the night last week.
“I think he was just given a talking to, not a fine,” said the agent.
“After all, he had been invited to that party and was not expected to train the following day.”
