Maurizio Zamparini - Palermo (Grazia Neri)
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has ruled out the arrival of a big name striker in January, after reports which have linked Luca Toni and Adriano with a move to the Sicilian capital.

"Toni and Adriano will not arrive, even if they are great players," he told Gr Parlamento.

Toni featured for the Rosanero from 2003 to 2005, scoring an impressive 50 goals for the club.

Meanwhile, one man rumoured to be leaving Sicily is starlet Simon Kjaer, but the outspoken patron is hopeful of holding on to the Danish centre-back.

"Kjaer? I hope Palermo are in a position at the end of the season that allows him to stay," he explained, stating the player would definitely not be leaving in January.

"Simon is someone who knows it is better to sharpen his teeth for two years in Palermo and is in no hurry. He is doing well on and off the field."
