Fiorentina Boss Prandelli Points To Fatigue For Loss Against Chievo
The Viola tactician is anxious to get back on track after another setback...
Fiorentina suffered an unexpected loss to Chievo Verona on Sunday, losing 2-1 to the impressive Flying Donkeys. Coach Cesare Prandelli has highlighted injuries and fatigue as the reason for the defeat.
"The merits of Chievo? The pressed us for all 90 minutes. Our demerits? In recent weeks we have made so many [physical] sacrifices and are in an emergency," he explained to Sky.
"It is difficult to recall some players [to the squad]. We expended a lot of energy both physically and mentally."
Fiorentina's final match of the calendar year is against AC Milan next weekend, when Prandelli hopes they will get a better result.
"Starting tomorrow we will begin preparing for the match against Milan. We must continue to work as we have been doing for years. I offer no apologies or excuses," he concluded.
