Tiago Mendes Rules Out Juventus Exit
The midfielder has quashed rumours he could be used as bait to land Wolfsburg hitman Dzeko.
Juventus midfielder Tiago Mendes has reiterated he has no intention of leaving the Serie A giants despite his peripheral role at the club.
And the 28-year-old has dismissed as ‘speculation’ reports that the Bianconeri are considering using him as a bargaining chip to lure Wolfsburg star striker Edin Dzeko to the Stadio Olimpico.
“I can assure you that it is just press speculation,” Tiago told Portuguese newspaper Record..
“There is no truth in it ever since they started talking about this story.
“I am not planning to leave Juventus.”
The former Chelsea man arrived in Turin from French side Lyon in the summer of 2007 for a reported fee of €13 million.
But he has failed to establish himself as a first team regular both under former boss Claudio Ranieri and current coach Ciro Ferrara.
Tiago has mustered just eight appearances in all competitions so far this term. He is tied to Juve until June 2012.
