Roma Boss Claudio Ranieri: Derby Win Is More Than A Dream
The tactician is still wowed by the enthusiasm of the Giallorossi half of the city after Sunday’s triumph.
The Giallorossi prevailed 1-0 thanks to a Marco Cassetti goal to get Ranieri off to a perfect start at the helm of his beloved club in the Rome Stracittadina.
“It’s more than a dream,” the tactician wrote in Il Messaggero.
“To win the derby right away, my first as Roma coach. I couldn’t have asked for more out of this adventure that I have awaited all my life.
“The happiness drove me onto the pitch, choosing a path that does not belong to me. That had never happened: I went to celebrate with the players in front of the Curva Sud.
“I never did it [before], but I felt compelled on Sunday. I was dragged there by perhaps the most exciting night of my career.
“I am happy with the result and the team spirit. I am glad I have managed to convey the determination of the Romans.”
