David Trezeguet is expected to return to action from a calf injury tonight to partner Alessandro Del Piero as Juventus face a key Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

And the striker is hoping to add to his goal-scoring tally, in turn surpassing the record of his idol Omar Sivori.

‘Trezegol’ equaled Sivori’s record of 167 goals for the Turin club last month during a 5-2 win over Atalanta.

“Having caught up with a myth like Sivori is something I will treasure forever,” the striker told Tuttosport.

“I am proud. He used to entertain and bamboozle defenders with his exceptional technique.

“We share the same strong mentality though, the one that allows you to appreciate the nice moments and get over the bad patches.

“I was fortunate enough to meet him and speak about football with him on several occasions. Of course, my objective is now to surpass him: it will be a source of great pride for me.”

Juve need only a draw against Bayern this evening to progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.
