thumbnail Hello,

The 'Doria tactician has offered a voice of encouragement to his floundering side...

Sampdoria coach Luigi Delneri has urged his side to be beyond reproach when they take on Roma this weekend.

A two-match winless streak in Serie A has seen the Blucerchiati slide away from the Champions League positions. They have conceeded six goals and scored none in consecutive league defeats against Genoa and Milan.

Delneri is trying to examine the causes of his side's rapid deceleration following a speedy start to the season. He believes the psychological handbreak has not been disengaged.

"The team has lost their characteristics all at once and for certain reasons I cannot understand," he told Primocanalesport.

"The team is blocked psychologically.

"We have to give more and show more courage. We could go into ritiro, not to punish the team, but to reflect on certain things."

Delneri has underlined the importance of the upcoming clash against Roma. He is hoping to see a faultless side.

"Our next two games are fundamental for us as we are playing for our reputation," he concluded.
