Inter coach Jose Mourinho's sarcastic applause against referee Massimiliano Saccani during the 2-1 defeat to Juventus on Saturday has earned him a one-match ban.

Mourinho started to clap the referee after Felipe Melo scored the opener for the Old Lady. He will now see the game against Atalanta on Sunday from the stands.

A statement on the Lega Calcio's official website reads:

"Inter coach Jose Mourinho has received a one match ban for having contested the team of match officials and for having gestured ironic applause to the referee during the match against Juventus."

Atalanta coach Antonio Conte will keep Mourinho company in the Atleti Azzurri D'Italia as he too gets a one game ban after being sent off against Fiorentina.

Roma, Lazio and Juventus all receive hefty fines from the authorities following fan trouble at their respective matches.

The Roman sides have been ordered to pay €40,000 each for "crowd disorder" which delayed the derby on Sunday night.

Juve get hit with a €25,000 charge for apparent "chants of a racial nature" during their game against the Nerazzurri.
