Cagliari Were Missing The Final Knockout Blow Against Palermo - Alessandro Matri
The striker may have scored for his side in their loss to the Rosaneri, but needed another goal to claim at least a point...
Cagliari forward Alessandro Matri may have beaten a personal record against Palermo, but was disappointed not to be able to lead his team to victory.
Matri, though, still affirms that the Rossoblu's objective this season is to reach 40 points, thus avoiding the drop into second division.
"This is my greatest disappointment," the hitman said to Cagliaricalcio.net. "It is useless scoring if you don't get a result.
"We were missing the final knockout blow, and we had the chances to do so.
"Just after an occasion, Budan scored.
"But our objectives do not change: we want to reach the 40 points as soon as possible.
The record that the 25-year-old broke was scoring in consecutive games. Having scored in every Isolani game since Lazio in late October, the streak has lasted six league matches, and could continue next week against Napoli.
