Parma may have had a 2-2 draw with Genoa on matchday 15 of the league, but there could be more that links the two sides beyond the match itself.

Whilst on the telephone with La Domenica Sportiva, as reported by TMW, Gialloblu defender Christian Panucci revealed that he was invited to Milan for several days to have discussions with the club, but was never contacted or told otherwise that the Grifoni were ultimately not interested in him.

From there, Preziosi allegedly put his hand near the neck region of the former Italian international. Panucci was tempted to react in a violent way, instead choosing to say a few choice words.

"I walked up to the Genoa president, simply underlying that it was not correct what he did earlier this summer, during the negotiations," Panucci stated. "If you send a player to Milan and put him up in a hotel for two days, then decide to renounce him and not even tell him by telephone, than that says something about his character.

"At that point, he put his hands on my neck, and the stewards are witnesses to this.

"I did not react in the same way because raising your hands to a 60-year-old man - who is old enough to be my father - is a horrible gesture.

"I apologise for my verbal outburst, as it is not a good sporting message to send out.

"But I now advise Preziosi do the same, otherwise I will proceed until the end, taking the matter further to the relevant authorities," concluded Panucci.
