AC Milan Coach Leonardo: We Were Marvellous Against Sampdoria
The coach has reflected on a perfect night in Milan as his side blitzed past Sampdoria...
The Rossoneri cruised to victory with the game over within 23 first-half minutes. Marco Borriello gave them the lead before Clarence Seedorf and Alexandre Pato made the game safe. Leonardo's side have sent a stark warning to league leaders Inter, but the Brazilian is not paying too much attention to the Nerazzurri.
"I think we won because we had the right approach against a team that was well placed and organised," Leonardo told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
"Scoring early made things easy for us and we were able to manage the game in our favour which allowed us to score more and win the match."
Ronaldinho set up the first goal, but had to be replaced by Ignazio Abate after complaining of a muscular injury.
"Everyone played really well. We swapped Ronaldinho and we replaced him with Abate who did brilliantly in his position," added the coach.
"I always change things. We were marvellous today. The talent is there in the team."
With the gap between Milan and Inter down to four points as the Nerazzurri kick off against Juventus, Leonardo was keen to divert attention from the Derby d'Italia.
"Juve - Inter? We cannot think about this game as it doesn't determine anything," he continued.
"I am interested in the game, but it will not affect us."
