Nicolas Burdisso Hails Roma Character After Win Over Basel

Roma centre-back Nicolas Burdisso has praised his team-mates after the Giallorossi came from behind last night to defeat Basel 2-1and advance to the last 32 of the Europa League.
“The most difficult moment was when we conceded that goal and were struggling to take control of the game,” the Argentine admitted to the Roma Channel.
“We ran risks, and Philippe [Mexes] and I often found ourselves one-on-one [with our opponents].
“But it went well. Our secret is our wonderful group, as pointed out by the boss.
“The Europa League brings prestige to us all and it’s now important to top the group.”
Roma lead the way in Group E with 10 points to their name and will pay visit to whipping boys CSKA Sofia in the final game on December 16.
But next up for the Lupi is a crunch Derby della Capitale clash with city rivals Lazio this Sunday. Burdisso has tasted the Milan Stracittadina during his stint at Inter and thinks the two derbies are not remotely comparable.
“They are totally different,” he said. “They are different cities and it’s way ‘hotter’ here.”
