Roma captain Francesco Totti was pleased with his side's 2-1 win over Basel in the Europa League, and glad to be one step closer to progressing to the next phase of the tournament.

Er Pupone scored the first of two Giallorossi goals, which secured maximum points, taking the side to 10 points with one match remaining.

"Tonight at the Olimpico," the 33-year-old published on his personal website francescototti.com. "Things went well.

"The main things is that we won, and have [almost] qualified for the next stage.

"I want to give praise to Basel, as they have an organised and physically strong squad.

"Now, our attention will turn to Sunday's derby match, as it will be an important, delicate and difficult game," Totti concluded.
