Juventus Defender Nicola Legrottaglie Vows To Become A Missionary After He Retires - Report
The defender wanted to be a Serie A footballer so bad, that he promised to become a missionary one day...
When Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie was a child, all he wanted to do was to play Serie A football when he grew up.
He prayed to God every night, hoping that his dream would come true. In return, Legrottaglie promised to become a missionary.
"As a child," the defender told students at the Pontificia Universita Lateranense, as reported by Sportal. "I would pray to God and tell him that 'If you make me become a Serie A footballer, I will one day become a missionary'.
"I can guarantee you that speaking in front of you about Jesus is more emotional and important than the Juventus-Inter match this weekend," he concluded.
Could 'Legro' have found his calling post-football? Stay tuned to Goal.com for the latest on the Derby d'Italia.
