Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has returned to training with a face mask following nasal surgery as coach Ciro Ferrara kept Vinovo under lockdown to limit distractions ahead of the major duel with Inter on Saturday.

Tuttosport claims Chiellini trained with the rest of the team and is in contention to make the squad for the derby d'Italia. The Italian international had suffered a broken nose on Sunday during the 2-0 loss to Cagliari. He had surgery on Monday, and has made a speedy recovery.

It's good news for Ciro Ferrara who also has David Trezeguet at his disposal after he returned following a calf injury.

President Jean-Claude Blanc and director Alessio Secco also turned up to training.

Ferrara barred the media spotlight from getting close to the players as he keeps his formations secret with the team training behind closed doors. Having lost twice on the bounce, the coach is keen to avoid distractions ahead of a paramount clash.
