Roma Ace Daniele De Rossi: Inter Are Still The Strongest Side In Serie A

The Lupi icon maintains the Nerazzurri have more than enough to claim their fifth title on the trot.

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi does not believe that reigning champions Inter will loosen their stranglehold on Serie A this season.

The Beneamata retained the title for the fourth year running last May and already have a comfortable seven-point cushion at the top of the league after the opening 14 games of this campaign.

Juventus had been tipped to push Inter all the way at the start of the season, but the Bianconeri have slipped eight points behind the leaders ahead of Saturday’s big home clash with the Nerazzurri.

“Juve can defeat Inter,” De Rossi is quoted as saying in the Corriere dello Sport.

“The initial approach to this type of matches is crucial, as well as the desire to win.

“But Inter remain the strongest team in Italy,” concluded the Italy international.

De Rossi is expected to return to action after a renal colic scare and cheekbone surgery tomorrow night when Roma face Basel in the Europa League.
