Palermo sporting director Walter Sabatini has ruled out going after Lazio dissident Cristian Ledesma during the winter transfer window.
Since hiring former Biancocelesti boss Delio Rossi, Ledesma has been linked to a move to Siciliy, and Sabatini quickly responded to such a transfer.
"The advent of Delio Rossi at Palermo has allowed for this type of hypothesis to occur," the sporting director told TMW. "But I am extinguishing the flame early, because Ledesma is a player who is similar to Fabio Liverani.
"We don't want to cast a shadow over Liverani, and the coach does not need to rip out his hair as to who to play.
"We have Liverani, and are very happy to have him.
"Hopefully, he will stay here for a long time," Sabatini summed up.
Palermo play Cagliari this weekend in the league.
