Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis Fears A New Calciopoli Scandal
The outspoken president has uncovered his suspicions...
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has become concerned about Serie A referees and he suspects a new Calciopoli scandal could be in the offing.
His comments come after Fabio Quagliarella was denied a clear penalty against Parma at the Ennio Tardini on Sunday. The game ended 1-1, and the chief has hit out at the men in black. He has become uneasy and has asked for some fair treatment.
"Napoli are an educated club who respect everyone," De Laurentiis told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"We have no problems if certain situations are occasional, but if they happen all the time and become systematic then I get suspicious.
"When I get suspicious then I usually investigate things; we don't need a new Calciopoli. We have to respect the fans as well otherwise they will lose interest and the big giant will take an uppercut on the chin."
