Roma defender John Arne Riise says he has developed an infatuation with the city of Rome, the Giallorossi colours, the Lupi supporters and he hopes to hang up his boots at the Olimpico.

“My biggest desire is to end my career here in Rome,” he revealed to Il Romanista.

“I love this city and the Roma faithful as well.”

Roma seem to have turned a corner after an indifferent start to the Serie A season and have collected 10 points from their last four outings.

“We created a lot of scoring chances earlier but were unable to take them,” mused the ex-Liverpool man.

“We are now netting goals and things are getting better at the back too. The team are more compact and we work together.”

Coach Claudio Ranieri came in after the opening two games of the league campaign after Luciano Spalletti stepped down.

“Ranieri has got us to believe we can win every single match,” added Riise.

“We can achieve the fourth spot if we play like we know we can. It will be crucial to defeat the teams who are ahead of us though. But we must take it one game at a time.”
