Roberto Donadoni Hits Back At Napoli Chief Aurelio De Laurentiis

De Laurentiis’s latest remarks have infuriated the former Partenopei boss…

Roberto Donadoni has wasted no time in hitting back at Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis after the movie mogul questioned the former Azzurri boss’ training methods in the wake of a 1-1 Serie A draw with Parma.

De Laurentiis hinted that the staff of Walter Mazzarri’s predecessor had failed to prepare the team adequately during pre-season and he insisted it showed at the Tardini after two players limped off with muscular problems and a tiring Napoli conceded a late equalizer.

“This was yet another drop in style,” Donadoni told the Corriere dello Sport.

“With these statements, he showed yet again that he knows very little about football. I doubt that he followed the training sessions closely.

“So, what knowledge does he have to speak? It’s a matter of good manners.

“I have never judged the work of others and I respect that of Mazzarri. Have you ever heard me claim credit for something? And yet Napoli achieved great results by playing well in the final minutes against Bologna, Fiorentina, Milan and Juventus.

“Could they have done that without an adequate preparation? Now after 50 days, it’s my fault if they are not winning. I don’t like it.”

Donadoni was sacked last October following a 2-1 reverse at Roma, the Azzurri’s fourth defeat in their opening seven games.
