Alessandro Nesta Hopes That Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Will Score More Goals For AC Milan

'The Hunter' finally found the net for the Rossoneri at the weekend...

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored a vital brace for AC Milan to give them a 2-0 win against Catania on Sunday, and team-mate Alessandro Nesta could not be happier with the Dutchman's contribution.

The 33-year-old told Il Corriere dello Sport that Huntelaar's two goals are hopefully a starting point for bigger and better things with the Rossoneri.

"I thought that it would end in a draw - we were a little bit tired after the game in the Champions League with Marseille," he admitted.

"Huntelaar resolved this difficult game with Catania. We saw that he was trying hard but couldn't find a goal, even in the matches in training.

"It's not easy to switch leagues, but I hope that this is just the beginning for him and Milan."

The Rossoneri's victory in Sicily lifted them above Juventus into second place in Serie A, and Nesta revealed that he will watch next weekend's derby d'Italia with great interest as the chasing pack looks to catch Inter at the top of the league.

"We have had a good run of results and now we're second. The championship is long and we hope that Inter ease off a bit, or it will be very difficult to catch them.

"The Nerazzurri are doing very well, but we're in the chase along with Juventus and Fiorentina. It's important to pick up the three points [against Sampdoria] and then whatever happens in Turin will be good for us."
