Juventus ace Diego insists the team needs to rationalize and get back to winning ways soon if they are to challenge for the Scudetto.

Ciro Ferrara's men fell victims to a resurgent Cagliari on Sunday as they lost 2-0. The game was supposed to be the turning point after losing to Bordeaux in the Champions League last week. However, it has left Juve eight points adrift of league leaders Inter and hopes of the title have taken a major dent.

"We played badly, were not able to show our play and lost three points which could have been useful for us in terms of the league," Diego told his official website.

"We cannot afford to lose anymore games and hope that Inter slip up."

Inter come to town this week, and the Brazilian has stressed the importance of getting it right.

"Our next match is a direct tussle with Inter and we have to work hard this week to correct our errors and get on the pitch to play differently.

"The result against Cagliari has made it very difficult for us to win the Scudetto. We have to start a new phase against Inter."
