Report: Juventus Patron John Elkann Fuming After Cagliari Debacle
President Jean-Claude Blanc has allegedly received an angry call from Elkann, while reports claim the Old Lady are flirting with Guus Hiddink and Roberto Mancini…
According to Turin-based daily Tuttosport, all hell has broken loose at Juventus following yesterday’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Cagliari in Serie A.
“I have already talked to the chief,” Juve President Jean-Claude Blanc told reporters after the encounter.
And Tuttosport speculates that Blanc had some sort of crisis meeting on the phone with patron John Elkann, who vented his anger at the Bianconeri’s dismal run of form that has seen them slip into third place in the league.
Elkann is said to have sounded a warning to boss Ciro Ferrara to sort out the team’s problems ahead of a key home clash with Serie A leaders Inter, who are now eight points clear of Juve at the top of the table.
Failure to overcome the Beneamata in next Saturday’s ‘Anticipo’ at the Olimpico could well spell the end of Ferrara’s brief reign at the helm of the Turin giants.
And some sources in the peninsula suggested last night that the Corso Galileo Ferraris directors have already approached Roberto Mancini and Guus Hidding to enquire after their availability.
