Inter forward Mario Balotelli revealed earlier this month that he was an AC Milan fan, much to the chagrin of the Nerazzurri faithful.
And coach Jose Mourinho consequently joked that Pato was presumably an Inter supporter because of his stint at Brazilian outfit Internacional.
“I’m no Interista,” Pato told the Corriere della Sera.
“I am a colorado. I don’t support Inter, but Internacional of Porto Alegre. And whoever supports that team in Brazil is referred to as colorado.”
Milan reportedly turned down a massive bid for Pato from English side Chelsea over the summer, as ex-Rossoneri boss Carlo Ancelotti was keen to reunite with the ‘Duck’ at Stamford Bridge.
“I know, but I just signed a new contract,” explained Pato, who has committed to the San Siro club until June 2014.
“I will be the same as I am now then, but with plenty more trophies that I hope Milan will have won during that time.”
