Bari-Empoli Serie B (Grazia Neri)
Italian medical group Meleam have blamed Bari after their proposed takeover bid failed to come to life.

On Friday, Bari issued a statement claiming they had rejected advances from the company. It suggested the offer from Meleam was unsatisfactory and that Bari did not want to proceed further under conditions set by the group interested in buying the majority stake.

Meleam have now responded to the statement, claiming it's the Matarrese family who have scuppered the move.

An official note released by Meleam, as reported by La Repubblica, reads:

"Melleam has always conducted the negotiation with maximum respect for Bari and for the Matarrese family.

"However, we find that the statement released by Bari yesterday was offensive to our reputation.

"Considering the situation today, Bari fans can thank Meleam for bringing the situation to life in the sense that the Matarrese's have never wanted to sell up in thirty years."
