River Plate Presidential Candidate Lines Up Swoop For Roma's Julio Baptista - Report
'The Beast' has once again been linked with a move away from the Eternal City...
Antonio Caselli is the latest candidate to announce that he is willing to put his hand in his pocket to bring the stars back to el Monumental, and it appears that he is ready to act as soon as the winter transfer window opens.
"We have opened the door to every player who wants to show that they are still champions," he is quoted as saying by Itasportpress.it.
"After December 5, River could be a great team once again - the champions of the century. We are ready to set up a squad of great substance."
Caselli then explained that his primary targets are Roma's Julio Baptista and Fenerbahce defender Diego Lugano, who was involved in negotiations with Lazio during the summer. He has previously hinted that he will also look to bring back Fernando Cavenaghi to the club.
