Inter Will Leave The Pitch If Juventus Fans Abuse Balotelli – Javier Zanetti

Zanetti spoke about Mourinho's comments after the Barcelona match and also stated that he will not hesitate to ask the referee to halt the upcoming encounter against Juve if he believes Balotelli is being abused.

Inter captain Javier Zanetti believes that Jose Mourinho's post-match comments following the 2-0 defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou in the Champions League were made in the heat of the moment.

The coach was less than impressed after the game and he claimed the Spanish giants were on a superior level to his charges.

Zanetti has now stepped in to ease thoughts at Appiano Gentile as he tries to restore the brave faces.

"I think Mourinho was only referring to the specific game on Tuesday. I don't think his judgement was a definite one," Zanetti told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Inter have it all to do against Rubin Kazan in the final matchday. Anything less than a win could see them crash out of the tournament. Zanetti hopes the tifosi don't boycott his side.

"I don't think the fans have given up, neither has the team. I am convinced our fans well help us qualify for the Champions League against Rubin," he added.

Zanetti has also warned Juventus to ensure the right measures are taken against abusive fans following the recent controversy with Mario Balotelli.

He has threatened to get his side to walk off the pitch if there is any indication of harassment in the stands.

"If something happens then I will not hesitate to go to the referee and ask him to stop the game," he concluded.
