Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has sent a clear message to Manchester United, telling them Marek Hamsik is not for sale.

Reports around Europe claimed scouts from Old Trafford are looking at the Slovakian international as an eventual alternative for Paul Scholes. However, the Azzurri premier has told them to search elsewhere.

"Many clubs have requested Hamsik, it's true, but he will stay with us for the long-term," De Laurentiis told the press.

While selling players in the winter appears unlikely, the chief has revealed some additions may be made to the squad, depending on what is required,

"We will see if we can intervene in the market in January," concluded the chief.
