Lazio & Napoli Appeal Julio Cruz & Leandro Rinaudo Three-Match Bans

Serie A teams Lazio and Napoli have appealed against the three-match suspensions that are facing Aquile striker Julio Cruz and Vesuviani defender Leandro Rinaudo, who were involved in a bizarre bust-up during last Sunday’s goalless draw at the San Paolo.
Cruz allegedly bit Rinaudo’s arm while the duo were jostling for position in the penalty box before a corner kick and the centre-back hit back by slapping the Argentine hitman.
“We have lodged an appeal that will be examined tomorrow at the FIGC headquarters,” Lazio lawyer Gian Michele Gentile told Lalaziosiamonoi.it.
“We believe that TV images cannot be used in this case, because they do not substantiate Cruz’s guilt with the utmost certainty.
“In short, there is no proof of the alleged bite and our appeal will be examined along with that of Napoli.
“We want to draw attention to the different behaviour of the two players and will ask for the penalty to be annulled.”
