Juventus have only one striker available for the crucial away clash with Cagliari on Sunday as Amauri has been ruled out.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Brazilian hitman turned up to Vinovo this morning, but he did not take to the training pitch. It appears his back injury has started to play up again after having been given the all-clear on Thursday.

Amauri came off during the 2-0 loss to Bordeaux with a gluteal problem. He had tests yesterday and they excluded any serious concern. However, he is back in the treatment room.

It's not good news for Ciro Ferrara, who is waiting anxiously on further developments. It leaves the coach with only Alessandro Del Piero to lead the offence.

David Trezeguet and Vincenzo Iaquinta are both out with knee problems. The coach is likely to call up Ciro Immobile, who came on as a substitute against Bordeaux. The youth team player is unlikely to start.

Likely Juventus Starting XI:
Buffon; Caceres, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Grosso; Melo, Sissoko; Camoranesi, Diego, Giovinco; Del Piero.
