Napoli Coach Walter Mazzarri Happy To Progress in Coppa Italia
The Azzurri boss was happy to go through to the next round...
Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri was delighted to see that his team of young stars was able to defeat Citadella and progress through to the next round of the Coppa Italia.
The Partenopei dispatched of the Serie B team 1-0, but a few nervous moments broke out, especially towards the end, as the Azzurri could not score more goals to make sure of the result.
"We have gotten through to the next round, and that is the main thing," the tactician told Corriere Dello Sport.
"I understand that the players who appeared on the park are young, but matches become closed earlier, otherwise you risk suffering until the end.
"We were unable to be as clinical at finishing as we normally are, which was a shame.
"But, we still did have some good indications from the side.
"Keep in mind that a lot of players tonight had had very little playing time up until now.
"Despite everything, we were able to get past their defence and get through to the next round," concluded Mazzarri.
