My Comments Were Not Intended To Criticise Ciro Ferrara - Juventus Ace Diego

Diego has looked to clear up any uncertainties surrounding his earlier comments, which some sections of the Italian media have manipulated to suggest that the Juventus star was criticising coach Ciro Ferrara.

"It’s not a fitness issue, it is an organisational one. Ferrara must identify these problems and explain to us how to solve them because we have to get out of this situation," Diego had told Tuttosport after the Bianconeri slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Bordeaux in the Champions League.

However, the Brazilian has insisted that he did not mean to call Ferrara's tactical approach into question, but explained that he is just desperate for the team to succeed and progress to the next round of the competition.

"My words of criticism were not meant to attack the coach, but just to demonstrate my availability and that of the team when he makes his choices," he is quoted as saying by Tuttojuve.com.

"We want to work together, because only in this way can we all get out of this negative moment. We're all disappointed at the moment because we wanted to win in order to ensure qualification.

"Not only have we lost the game, we also wasted a chance of qualifying early. Now we must focus on the next match and win against Bayern Munich."
