Mario Balotelli Is Targeted Because Of His Personality - Pierluigi Casiraghi
The tactician believes that 'Super Mario' paints himself with a bullseye. In addition, he believes that the young star must persist with the Nerazzurri...
Controversial Inter striker Mario Balotelli is not the victim of racism, according to Pierluigi Casiraghi, who feels the young forward does little to help himself.
"It's not a question of racism," mused the former Lazio striker to La Gazzetta dello Sport, speaking about chants directed at Balotelli from Juventus fans last season.
"His personality annoys people, but it is not racism. For better or worse he is often a target.
"He is a player with great personality, but he tends to exaggerate sometimes. He is improving and must have patience and polish some parts of his character."
Balotelli and Inter team-mate Davide Santon have both come under criticism from club boss Jose Mourinho in recent months.
"I agree with Mourinho, the coach is also a psychologist and has the ability to understand and stimulate the players," continued the Azzurrini coach.
"Balotelli and Santon are both growing and improving and I have nothing to say about their attitude. I'm sure they will remain at the San Siro and I advise them not to change clubs and lose the opportunities they have earned."
