Chelsea Chase Livorno Ace Antonio Candreva - Report
The west London outfit are reportedly interested in the young midfielder...
Chelsea are in line to make a January swoop for Livorno and Italy international midfielder Antonio Candreva.
According to The Sun, Carlo Ancelotti is eager to land the 22-year-old midfielder. Candreva has caught the eye in Serie A and a number of European clubs are said to be following him.
The report claims Candreva would be a useful alternative to Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel who are expected to play at the African Cup of Nations, meaning Ancelotti will be left short staffed.
However, a January move seems unlikely though as the player is currently on loan with the Labronici from Udinese. Though Livorno president Aldo Spinelli did confirm an interest from Chelsea.
"I do not know if he will stay in Udine next season because many Italian and foreign clubs are watching him, not least Chelsea. He deserves all this attention because apart from being a good player, he is also a nice guy with a good head on his shoulders," the chief told Udineseblog.it.
