Joan Laporta & Eric Abidal Delighted With Barcelona Contract Extension
The Frenchman was tied down to an improved deal earlier on Tuesday, and both the player and the club president are pleased that negotiations have been successfully completed...
"I'm doing really well here in Barcelona," he enthused.
"This club is the best in the world and the longer I'm here, the better."
Blaugrana president Joan Laporta was equally happy with the positive outcome from the talks. He praised the defender's attitude off the pitch as well as his quality on it.
"It's an honour to have a player like Abidal at Barca," Laporta explained.
"We are a club who have players with an excellent human quality."
Abidal has recently overcome the H1N1 virus and is expected to take his place in Barcelona's starting XI when they take on Real Madrid in el Clasico on Sunday.
