Atalanta Boss Antonio Conte: We Must Lock Roma’s Francesco Totti In A Cage
The 40-year-old doesn't know how to stop Totti using traditional methods, so he has formulated a novel plan...
After earning a 2-0 win over Siena last weekend, Atalanta coach Antonio Conte is hoping for more of the same when his side welcome Roma on Sunday.
The Giallorossi looked in good shape in their last match, with captain Francesco Totti returning from injury to score a sublime hat-trick at the Stadio Olimpico. This has prompted Conte to look outside the box with regards to ideas for stopping the talisman.
"To stop him I will use a cage and a padlock!" he was quoted as saying by Il Corriere dello Sport.
"First we have to think about Lumezzane [in the Coppa Italia] and then we'll see."
The Bergamo-based outfit's win last weekend was vital in contributing to their battle against relegation, and Conte has asked for his side to display more consistency.
"We must give continuity to our performances after the victory against Siena," concluded the ex-Juventus midfielder.
