Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero is ready to take down Bordeaux when the teams lock horns in the Champions League.

A win for the Italians at the Stade Chaban-Delmas will see them through to the round of 16. 'Pinturicchio' has only played 40 minutes of football this season, ten against Bologna and 30 during the 1-0 win over Udinese on Sunday.

He is is determined to feature in France, and eager to fire his side top of the group.

"We want to finish first in the group, but most importantly we have to get through to the next round, where we will play against a very strong team in any case," Del Piero told the club's official website.

"There's no reason as to why I shouldn't be ready for this game. It will be my second game after being out for so long, but it's down to the coach as to whether I play.

"I haven't always trained with the team since my injury and the coach did try out different formations, but it will not make a difference to how I play on the pitch."
