Roma Star Daniele De Rossi Back In Training
The midfielder came through yesterday’s session unscathed and could make the trip to Atalanta...
Roma midfield ace Daniele De Rossi resumed full training at the Giallorossi’s Trigoria complex yesterday, after a lengthy hospital stay due to cheekbone surgery and an attack of renal colic.
The 26-year-old went under the knife on November 9 after fracturing his cheekbone during Roma’s 1-1 draw with Inter.
But he was re-admitted to the Gemelli Hospital three days later with acute renal colic and was only discharged last week.
The Italian international looked thinner, but trained with the rest of the squad for the entire training session under the vigilant eye of boss Claudio Ranieri.
If De Rossi can prove his fitness during the rest of the week, there is a good chance he will make the squad for the visit to Atalanta next Sunday.
If he does play, he will need to wear a custom-made mask that he already tried on yesterday afternoon to protect his cheekbone.
